Luxury Retirement Apartments
Situated in Taylors Avenue, Maritime Court comprises forty luxury one and two bedroom apartments, designed exclusively for those aged over 60.
Solution
Adept carried out the design for the foundations and superstructure for this three storey residential building on the site of a former care home, which was completed in September 2016.
The foundation solution used traditional strip footings founded in natural material and was designed to suit the footprint of former basements on the site and adjacent trees.
The superstructure used precast concrete floor units supported on load bearing masonry walls which form the layout of the apartments. In addition some steelwork framing was designed to create more open areas for residential lounges and within apartments.
The roof structure used specialist timber trusses with some supporting steelwork where needed to suit internal layouts.
