Cyber Essentials

Cyber Essentials is a government-backed cyber security certification scheme that sets out a good baseline of cyber security suitable for all organisations in all sectors. The scheme addresses five key controls that, when implemented correctly, can prevent around 80% of cyber attacks.

At Adept, we take data protection and cyber security seriously. We are proud to have achieved Cyber Essentials certification, demonstrating our commitment to safeguarding our systems and protecting client information from common online threats.

We have also achieved the enhanced accreditation Cyber Essentials Plus. This process involves a rigorous independent assessment of our systems and security controls and reflects our ongoing dedication to maintaining the highest standards of cyber resilience across our operations.

 

 

 

 

BIM

We have embraced BIM (Building Information Modelling) since our beginnings in 2007, recognising its value in delivering coordinated, efficient, and high-quality engineering solutions. Since 2013, we have implemented BIM across all projects, embedding digital design and information management at the heart of our delivery approach.

We are proud to be ISO 19650 accredited through Stroma, affirming our commitment to industry best practice in structured information management throughout the asset lifecycle.

 

At Adept we invest in modern technology to enhance collaboration, accuracy, and project delivery at every stage. Our office is equipped with high-performance workstations, dual-monitor setups, and cloud-based file management systems to support intensive modelling, analysis, and real-time data sharing across project teams.

Our meeting and collaboration spaces feature large-format displays, video conferencing capabilities, and presentation systems, making it easy to engage with clients and partners, whether in person or remotely.We use a range of advanced tools to support survey, design, and visualisation workflows, including:

  • FARO Laser Scanner – For high-precision 3D point cloud capture, ideal for surveying existing buildings, infrastructure, and complex environments.
  • Drone Technology – Used for aerial site inspections, photogrammetry, and topographical surveys, offering a safe, efficient way to gather large-scale spatial data.
  • Meta Quest 3 VR Headset – Enables immersive visualisation of 3D models and environments, supporting design reviews, stakeholder engagement, and early-stage spatial validation.

Together, these technologies allow us to streamline design processes, reduce risk, and deliver more informed, coordinated solutions.

 

Autodesk Revit / 3ds Max

Autodesk Revit is a BIM tool which enables us to create 3D structural building information models. The models can be transferred bi-directionally between ourselves and other members of the design team, allowing us to ensure coordination on all our projects. It links seamlessly with MasterSeries structural design and other analysis software’s so we can design and analyse our structural models. It also allows the creation of drawings, schedules, visualisations and project documentation from a single source. Revit also integrates with Civils 3D and Navisworks software allowing us to deliver coordinated, collaborative and accurate drawing and model information.

Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D

Civil 3D software is used for cut and fill modelling, detailed drainage designs, highway designs and 3D visualisations. In particular we can optimise the amount of cut and fill on a given site and use it to detect clashes in drainage runs. It provides project teams with comprehensive surveying, design and analysis solutions to deliver land development, transportation, and environmental projects faster and with improved accuracy.

MasterSeries Design and Analysis Suite

MasterSeries provides a complete solution for the structural office, from analysis to design. It includes steel, concrete, composite, masonry, timber and retaining walls. The MasterSeries 3D analysis and design software integrates with BIM using a Revit Interface.

InfoDrainage

We use InfoDrainage to deliver robust and compliant drainage designs as part of our integrated engineering workflows. This industry-standard software supports the design, analysis, and optimisation of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), enabling us to produce fully coordinated models that align with both regulatory requirements and BIM standards.

Autodesk Navisworks

Autodesk Navisworks helps us integrate, share, and review models and multiformat data with all project team members. A comprehensive set of integration, analysis, and communication tools help us better coordinate disciplines, resolve conflicts, and plan projects before construction or renovation begins. Navisworks also produces clash detection reports and can be used for 3D walk overs of our Civil and Structural building models.

Autodesk ReCap

ReCap is a powerful point cloud management tool which allows us to view and edit point cloud laser scans before sharing to downstream applications. ReCap seamlessly federates an unlimited number of point clouds, enabling a smooth scan to BIM workflow in refurbishment or historic preservation projects. The software integrates with our other design packages to allow us to underlay link point clouds into our structural building models.

Tekla Structures

Tekla Structures is a BIM tool which enables us to provide full steelwork fabrication drawings. Used alongside Revit it allows members of the construction team to fully co-ordinate all aspects of modelling. Structural, Architectural and M&E drawings can be extracted from the model and are updated when a revision is made. Used for fabrication drawing when material IP is known.

LimitState:Slab

We utilise LimitState:SLAB to efficiently perform yield-line analysis for concrete slabs, enabling rapid calculation of ultimate load capacity and failure mechanisms. As the only commercially available tool that automates this complex process, it supports precise, code-compliant design decisions within seconds. Integrating seamlessly with their suite of structural software, it enhances both design reliability and productivity.

Etabs & Safe

We apply ETABS and SAFE to deliver robust structural solutions with precision and efficiency. ETABS is used for comprehensive 3D modelling and analysis of entire buildings, while SAFE focuses on the detailed design of concrete slabs and foundations. Together, they support accurate, code-compliant design by enabling analysis of both global structural behaviour and individual slab components. This integrated approach ensures high-performance outcomes across a range of structural systems. and easily decipher and understand analysis and design results.

Tekla Tedds

We utilise Tekla Tedds for fast, accurate structural calculations across a wide range of civil and structural engineering applications. Its automated calculation library and custom scripting capabilities enable us to deliver consistent, fully documented outputs that meet current Eurocode and British Standard design requirements. Tekla Tedds integrates seamlessly with our BIM workflows, enhancing the efficiency and traceability of our structural design process.

Tekla Structural Designer

We use Tekla Structural Designer to model, analyse, and design steel and concrete structures within an integrated 3D environment. Its ability to handle multi-material designs allows us to efficiently assess structural performance and ensure code compliance. By linking Tekla with our BIM workflow, we streamline coordination across disciplines and deliver optimised, accurate structural solutions.

Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis (ROBOT)

We utilise Autodesk Robot Structural Analysis (ROBOT) to conduct advanced finite element modelling and structural analysis for complex and unconventional designs. ROBOT enables rapid and precise modelling of large, intricate structural frames while supporting a broad range of materials and international design standards. Its robust finite element analysis (FEA) features allow Adept’s engineers to simulate loads, displacements, and stresses in detail. The software’s customisable analysis parameters and automated load combinations further enhance design accuracy and efficiency. By leveraging ROBOT, Adept delivers reliable, code-compliant structural solutions that reduce risk, optimise performance, and support sound engineering decisions.

Site3D

Our team uses Site3D for detailed ground modelling, road and junction design, and development planning. Site3D’s intuitive interface and real-time visualisation tools allow for efficient design of levels, drainage, and external works, reducing iterations and streamlining design approvals. Its compatibility with BIM and CAD platforms ensures accurate integration with multidisciplinary models.

WinDes Micro Drainage Suite

Micro Drainage is software for modelling and simulation of drainage systems, SuDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems) and Flood Hazards. It allows for the design of foul and surface water drainage systems, including flow control, attenuation, and infiltration in order to check the effective hydraulic operation of the system.

3D Laser Point Cloud Scanning

We employ 3D laser point cloud scanning to capture precise, high-resolution spatial data for existing site conditions. This non-intrusive technology enables rapid, detailed surveying of complex environments, supporting retrofit, refurbishment, and brownfield development projects. The resulting point clouds form the basis for accurate 3D models, reducing risk, improving coordination, and enhancing design accuracy from the outset.
