Apprentices on Site: Rotherham Markets & Library

Our Adept apprentices recently visited the site of the £36m transformation of Rotherham’s indoor and outdoor markets and new town centre library — a major project for Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council.
Adept is proud to be leading the civil and structural engineering design, helping to strengthen existing buildings, improve drainage, and create flexible, accessible spaces for the community.

With nearly 500 tonnes of steel already installed and the basement steelwork now complete, the new covered market and library are on track to open in spring 2026, with full redevelopment due in early 2027.

It’s been fantastic to see our apprentices learning from the real-world challenges and progress on site — the future of engineering looks bright!
