Adept complete state of the art, £10 million Extra Care facility in Chorley

Leeds companies Adept Civil and Structural Consulting Engineers and Brewster Bye Architects have completed work on a state of the art, £10million extra care facility in Chorley town centre.

The development has 65 high quality, one and two bedroom, apartments, compete with their own kitchens, bathrooms, living space and terraces. There’s also a wide range of amenities including a state-of-the-art sprung dance floor, hair salon and café, which are also open to non-residents.

The three storey building sits in extensive landscaped grounds and is centred around a stunning central atrium. The development was built for Chorley Council and The Eric Wright Group was the main contractor. It’s designed to be dementia friendly and built to Homes England standards, incorporating ‘HAPPI’ principles.

Erol Erturan, managing director at Adept, which provided civil and structural engineering services of the project, said: “Primrose Gardens has set a new benchmark in terms of quality and specification for an extra care facility and has the potential to become a valuable asset for the local community as a whole.

“It’s also going to be a fantastic place to call home, due to it being extremely functional, modern and light, with superb facilities.”

Gareth Jackson from Brewster Bye Architects, which designed the scheme, added: “This is an outstanding development where over 55s can enjoy living independently, but also have 24-hour access to care and support should they need it. We specifically designed it to be highly accessible, with stunning grounds and high-quality communal space and amenities, which are just a short walk away from the town centre. We’re delighted that work is complete and it will be hugely rewarding to see residents enjoying their new homes in the coming weeks.”
