Roles at ADEPT

I am a Chartered Structural Engineer with hands-on experience in the design and project management of large-scale developments, multi-use buildings, warehouses, and major refurbishments. I specialise in steel construction with a focus on providing elegant solutions that respond to my client's needs.

My core workload is in the Education sector, although I have a broad experience base across other sectors. I am working on expanding our current capability in healthcare and this has resulted in a growing portfolio of medical projects. As a Director, I am fully involved in establishing the upfront relationships and leading our plan of action at the beginning of new projects.

I manage 2 design teams in our Leeds office, and I am also the Quality Assurance manager for the company.

I have been working in the construction industry since graduating in 1996 and, over that time, I have found great satisfaction in building relationships with people, nurturing clients and fostering repeat work. I relish the camaraderie that naturally develops within a collaborative team working together towards a common goal.

The Kirkgate Market redevelopment scheme is a good example of an unusual project with a memorable team spirit.

When not working

I love being outdoors and my local area at home offers plenty of opportunities to be actively enjoying it. I find heading out on long hikes with the family is great for tiring out my kids and the dogs.

I enjoy running off-road when possible. It’s a welcome opportunity to get some headspace and catch up with a few podcasts. I do a park run most weekends and partake in longer running events to test myself.

I am keen on road cycling and like a sociable ride with friends or business colleagues when time permits it.

At home I like to put my chef’s hat on and turn my hand to cooking. Whilst I am no Masterchef contender, I derive a lot of pleasure from testing out new recipes and extending my skills in the kitchen.
